Concealed British artillery, 1916. Lantern slide, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918), 1916. A Royal Field Artillery (RFA) gun crew sit next to their field gun. The RFA were responsible for the Army’s light movable field guns, whereas the Royal Garrison Artillery (RGA) operated heavy artillery and large calibre howitzers that were less mobile.
