Print of a Spanish national pamphlet to throw over the besieged Madrid on November 11, 1936. English translation: "Citizens of Madrid: In the neighbourhood, there are trains that provide food for help. On our arrival in Madrid, the ugly and despicable fights and injustices cease to happen. The sooner you put your arms down, the sooner you will be able to enjoy the subsidence of peace." Since October 1936, General Francisco Franco had tried to conquer Madrid with his troops. On the 8th of November, General Emilio Mola attacked Madrid directly with his troops and laid siege to the capital.
