A Canadian Korean War veteran stands beside an honour roll where a group of Canadian veterans placed a wreath at the Korean War museum in Seoul July 25, 2003. During the Korean War, Canada contributed the third-largest contingent of international troops to the United Nations after the United States and Britain. A total of 26,791 Canadians were dispatched and 516 gave their lives, of which 378 lay buried in the U.N. Cemetery in Pusan. About 1,500 veterans from 21 countries which fought in the war as U.N.-allied forces will attend a ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of the signing of the armistice agreement in Panmunjom on July 27.
