Manufacturing 16mm cameras, Mitchelldean, 1953. A production worker at British Acoustic Films adds the final items to the drive mechanism of a Bell and Howell Filmo 16mm camera. The Filmo was one of the simplest 16mm cameras on the market because of its cartridge loading. The Surrey based company thrived during the 1950s boom in amateur cine producing a range of 16mm and 8mm cameras and projectors, many under license from American firms like Bell and Howell.
