A young loyalist sailor extolled British virtues and heroism, just after the resumption of hostilities with France, with the threat of a possible invasion of Great Britain. This sailor on land is represented for his energy, not for debauchery, the stereotypical behavior of his demobilization, but for defending the territory, on his hat ribbon, features the inscription 'Nelson for ever' and an excerpt from a song by Charles Dibdin (1745-1814), which was very popular in London theaters. Colourful etching, published on October 6, 1803, by John Nixon and W. Hodgson.
